Irondog MX

Irondog MX is a full-service motocross destination in New Ulm, Texas, sitting in the triangle between Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. AMA-chartered and open to the public since 2019, it has grown into one of the region's go-to spots for both practice and organized racing, and it is backed by Irondog Motorcycles, a shop with 27-plus years behind it. The hook here is the dirt: Irondog runs three distinct soil types on one property, so a single day rides like several tracks.

There are four riding zones in all. The main track is the showpiece, deep-prepped and technical, with a long start straight, a clay-and-sand mix, rutted corners, rollers, tabletops, doubles, step-ups, and an intimidating step-down triple, plus a massive ant hill that doubles as a spectator perch. A pure sand track lets you drill stability and momentum through heavy, shifting soil. A tight amateur supercross track sharpens stadium-style rhythm and precision.

And a turn track and kids track give beginners and youth riders low-stakes space away from the fast traffic. Irondog runs like a real venue, not a rural field. The on-site pro shop stocks VP racing fuels, tear-offs, goggles, gloves, filters, and oil, and the full mechanical shop can wrench on dirt bikes, street bikes, ATVs, and side-by-sides. Stay the weekend with 15 premium 50-amp RV spots plus plenty of shaded primitive camping, rinse off at the elevated bike-wash deck, and use the portable restrooms spread around the property.

On the race side, Irondog routinely runs sanctioned regional events like the Come And Take It MX Series with deep classes and proportional pro-purse payouts. One tip: cards work at the gate and shop, but cash is preferred to dodge the surcharge.
