Bowers MX

Bowers MX in Amarillo, Texas is the Texas Panhandle's only major motocross park: 60 acres on the west side of Amarillo with multiple track types built for every bike size and skill level. In a corner of Texas where motocross options are otherwise sparse, Bowers is the regional anchor.

The dirt is loose and regularly maintained. Staff groom and water the surface before every practice day, which matters in the Panhandle, where dry, fast-drying soil needs consistent water to stay rideable.

Multiple track layouts mean a family with riders at different levels can all practice at once, and a developing rider can move up through harder layouts without changing tracks. The park is beginner-friendly with intermediate sections to grow into, so new riders find comfortable lines while faster riders push the technical stuff.

The schedule runs Wednesday evenings, Saturday afternoons, and Sunday afternoons, with the midweek evening window fitting riders coming off a workday. Race weekends land on the first weekend of every month starting in February, a monthly cadence the regional racing calendar can plan around. Pricing is $20 to ride and $5 to spectate. Dirt bikes only, no ATVs or UTVs, which keeps track conditions consistent for moto practice.

Amarillo sits on Interstate 40 between Albuquerque and Oklahoma City. Lubbock is about 90 minutes south, Oklahoma City four hours east, and Denver roughly six hours northwest, so Bowers draws riders from across the Panhandle, West Texas, and eastern New Mexico.
