Frequently Asked
New Hampshire motocross questions.
What's motocross like in New Hampshire? +
NH Motocross Park (NHMX) is the big one, located in Pittsfield. MX101 over by Epsom, The Rock Pile up north, Riverside Speedway's dirt side, plus a couple of smaller club tracks. NESC (New England Sports Committee) is the regional series most riders chase. New Hampshire dirt is rocky beneath the loam, which is to say tracks set up fast and unforgiving when dry. Season runs early May through October. Fall is the best riding of the year here without question: cool dry air, tacky dirt after the first rain, and the foliage backdrop that keeps the cameras out at every event. Black flies in late May, mosquitoes in June, then it gets civilized. The state's small enough that riders here also know the Vermont, Maine, and Massachusetts scenes by heart. If you live in the Boston metro and want a real-track weekend, the drive north is shorter than the drive south.
