Profile · Louisiana

Riding Louisiana.

Hot, humid, and short on elevation. Frog Capital MX over by Rayne, Arcola, Desoto, Full Throttle, Dirt Slingers in the central part of the state. Louisiana's flat bayou geography means most tracks build their jumps out of pushed dirt, which sets up loamy when freshly prepped and powdery by the third moto. Riding season is technically year-round; in practice, July through September is a survival exercise even at dawn. Best windows are October through May. Hurricane season takes a track out of the rotation occasionally. The scene is smaller than Texas or Mississippi but tight, and Louisiana riders cross-pollinate hard with the southeast Texas circuit because the drive to Underground or 3 Palms is shorter than the drive to half the state's own venues. Watch for water under the surface: spring rains here don't drain like in the sandier states, and what looks rideable can have soft spots ten inches deep.
