Motocross Tracks and MX Parks in West Virginia

Mountain country and a scene that crosses harder between motocross and harescramble than almost any other state. Hidden Valley, Air Mountain, Burning Rock, Mason Motocross, Jet Mountain-X for the camping-and-riding crowd. The Appalachian foothill geography means most West Virginia tracks have real elevation built in, and the soil is rocky beneath the loam at most venues. Season runs roughly April through October with the same humidity-driven mid-summer slump that hits the rest of the southeast. The off-road riding here is some of the best in the country; the GNCC (Grand National Cross Country) calendar reaches deep into West Virginia and pulls riders from across the East Coast. AMA District 7 covers most of the points calendar. The drives between tracks can be longer than they look on a map because of the terrain. If you only ride moto, the locals will eventually drag you to a hare scramble, and you'll either love it or hate it.
