Minnesota Motocross.

Spring Creek MX over by Millville is the one. The Lucas Oil National there in late July is one of the most beautiful settings on the outdoor circuit, set down in a wooded river valley with elevation that rides bigger than it looks. Outside Spring Creek, Buffalo River Race Park in the west, BCMX up in Cambridge (the former Cambridge MX), Diamond Park, Echo Valley. Minnesota dirt mostly comes from glacial loam, which is to say excellent when prepped right and fast under any conditions. The MMA (Minnesota Motocross Association) runs a thick calendar from May through October. Winter shuts everything down hard for five months; locals fill the off-season with snowbike riding, ice racing, or the trip down to Florida. Black-dirt patches in the southern half of the state ride loamier than the gravelly mixes up north. Bring a long sleeve in early June; mosquitoes are not a polite welcome.
