The Massachusetts moto scene squeezes a lot of riding into a small geography. Capeway Rovers down on the south coast, BRO MX (Berkshire Riders Organization) out west in the hills, 508 International in central Mass, Crow Hill in Winchendon. NESC (New England Sports Committee) is the regional points series. Cape Cod sand riding, Berkshire hardpack, central-state loam, and three different soil characters inside ninety minutes of driving. Season runs roughly mid-April through October with a strong fall window once the leaves drop and the dirt firms up. Most clubs here are old: founded in the sixties or earlier, run on tradition, charge less than newer venues. The vintage and post-vintage scene runs deep, partly because of that history and partly because Massachusetts riders are statistically the most likely to still be racing into their fifties and beyond. Black flies are real in May; September is the cleanest month of the year.
