Missouri

Missouri sits at a midwest crossroads and the dirt reflects it. Finger Lakes State Park MX up by Columbia is one of the biggest public venues, 4-State Moto Complex hugs the Kansas border, Cycle World USA, Adrenaline Motocross around the KC metro. The state is split between rolling Ozark country in the south and flatter farmland in the north, which gives each track a different personality. Soil is mostly clay-loam that sets up tacky when prepped and turns slick when wet. The Missouri Motocross Riders Association covers the bulk of the points racing. Season runs March through November with a hot middle that pushes most weekend riding to mornings and late evenings. Tornado weather in spring is a planning factor. Riders here cross-pollinate hard with Kansas, Illinois, and Arkansas because the geography puts a lot of state lines within an easy haul. If you've only ridden one corner of Missouri, the dirt in the other corner will feel like a different state.
