Family-owned Ozarks motocross track minutes from Branson, with floater jumps, a beginner friendly layout, $30 rider fee, free spectators and limited on-site camping.
What riders find
Rick's Branson MX is a family-owned motocross track in Reeds Spring, Missouri, sitting just northwest of the Branson strip in what locals call West Branson. It has become one of the main places to ride and race in southwest Missouri and the wider Ozarks.
The layout is built to work for two kinds of rider at once. There is enough room for beginners and mini riders to learn without getting in over their heads, and enough in the way of obstacles to keep quick riders honest. Riders single out the floater jumps and the rough, dug-out sections that develop as the day goes on.
On race weekends the pattern is open practice Saturday and racing Sunday. Gates and registration open at 7 AM, and there is a mandatory riders meeting at 8 AM before practice and heat groups go out.
Riders pay $30 and spectators get in free, so bringing family along to watch does not cost anything extra. There is camping on the property, but spots are limited, so message the track before you turn up with a camper.
The Branson location is the other draw. Because the track sits minutes from one of the busiest tourist towns in the Midwest, travelling racers have hotels, cabins and plenty to do within a 15 to 20 minute drive, which makes it an easy one to build a family weekend around rather than just a day trip.
Track conditions, ride days and event schedules go up on the Rick's Branson MX Facebook page, which is where the operators post first.
