Dirt Theory MX (formerly Full Throttle MX Park)

Dirt Theory MX, formerly Full Throttle MX Park, is a motocross track in Loranger, Louisiana, on the Northshore just outside Hammond. The operation is built around dirt prep. Their slogan is Traction By Design, and it means what it says: the crew waters the surface to the right moisture, rips it to the proper depth, and keeps working it so the track rides consistent from the first moto to the last.

The main track is about a mile of clean, loose, rock-free dirt with high-banked berms and a jump mix that suits beginner and intermediate riders. A separate peewee track gives 50cc riders and first-timers their own space, and wooded trail sections around the property add variety between sessions. It is a dirt bike facility, with two-strokes and four-strokes both welcome.

Open practice runs weekends, typically 9am to 2pm. Day passes are $30 for big bikes 85cc and up, $20 for 84cc and under or pit bikes on both tracks, and $10 for the kids track only. Racing runs after dark too: the track hosts rounds of the Night Shift Series, with Saturday racing that starts in the afternoon and carries into the night under the lights. Camping is free, and the property is set up for a full weekend: RV pads with electric hookups, permanent restrooms and showers, water fill stations, and concessions. There is volleyball and horseshoes for the downtime between motos, so families have plenty to do besides watch laps.
