Canaan Lions Motocross

Canaan Lions Motocross is one of New England's most enduring community tracks, hosting races on Ball Park Road since 1971 under the stewardship of the local Lions Club. The formula has not changed in five decades: a natural-elevation layout built on tight corners and flow rather than intimidating jumps, which makes it a standing favorite for vet riders, novices, and families, with enough berms and doubles to keep everyone honest. The terrain is honest New Hampshire dirt, a shifting mix of loose soil, hardpack, rock, and whatever the weather brings. A separate cut track hosts the pit bike and Stacyc classes, hand-scored the old-fashioned way with no transponder needed, keeping the smallest racers in the program. Saturday practice runs $25 with a dedicated beginner period followed by rotating 15-minute sessions by class, typically ahead of scheduled race weekends, and overnight camping opens Friday and Saturday nights after 6pm. The gate is motorcycles only. As a Lions Club operation, race weekends double as community fundraisers, which is a big part of why the track has outlasted so many commercial venues.
