River Oaks Moto Park

River Oaks Moto Park is a public practice track and premier training hub in Bastrop, Texas, just east of Austin. It is the direct successor to Dark Horse MX: owner Cody Haverfield and the Dirt Lab Coaching crew closed the smaller Dark Horse track in nearby Smithville at the end of 2024 and moved to this larger 56-acre property, roughly tripling their space. That room let them build out several distinct tracks. The National is the headliner, with big, stylish supercross-style jumps including a massive 95 to 100 foot triple. The GP track suits intermediate, vet, and weekend-warrior riders. There is a kids track with small jumps and easy berm turns, and a flat turn track for fresh beginners drilling throttle and clutch control. You will also find a sand section and a rebuilt woods loop. The dirt is the calling card: deep and premium with a subtle sand blend that hooks up for traction and builds deep ruts as the day goes on. Public ride days run Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, with heavy prep alternating between the National (Saturdays) and GP (Sundays) tracks. In the Texas summer heat the park often focuses on a single fully prepped track for peak conditions. Gate fee runs $30 to $40 a day, cash preferred, and drops to $20 if you book a Dirt Lab Coaching session. To keep the track safe, the owner occasionally caps the day at 40 riders. This is a raw, riding-first facility. There are porta-potties on site but no running water, electricity, or concessions, so bring your own shade, plenty of water, and food for the Texas heat. Dry camping is available if you want to stay over.
