MARS Family Outdoor & Off-Road Park

MARS Family Outdoor and Off-Road Park in Linn is the Rio Grande Valley's off-road park: 300-plus acres with a motocross track, 8 miles of trails, and an actual on-site swimming pit for cooling off after a moto.

MARS is the southernmost major moto facility in Texas, and that matters because the Rio Grande Valley has very little dedicated motocross infrastructure. Without MARS, Valley riders face long highway runs north just to find an active track; with it, deep South Texas has a home venue.

The 300-plus acres split the duty: the motocross track covers standard MX riding while the 8 miles of trails handle cross-country and trail riding for the broader off-road crowd. The swimming pit is the amenity you don't see elsewhere, and in South Texas summer heat it is less a luxury than a survival feature.

Camping covers both primitive sites and RV hookups for weekend stays, and there are restrooms on-site. The schedule runs practice most weekends with monthly races on the calendar, weather permitting, so the park supports both regular sessions and real racing.

For riders in Linn, Edinburg, McAllen, Mission, Pharr, Weslaco, Harlingen, Brownsville, and along the US-281 / US-83 / I-69 corridor in Hidalgo County and the wider Valley, MARS is the home track. South Padre Island riders head inland, and riders from across the border in northern Mexico make the trip too. It is an easy day trip from McAllen, Brownsville, or Edinburg.
