Bowie Motocross

Bowie Motocross is a family-oriented outdoor dirt bike track at 4414 W Alamo Rd in Bowie, Texas, about 60 miles northwest of Fort Worth in Montague County. The layout is the draw: an outdoor motocross track built with an indoor-style flow, tight and technical, leaning on rhythm sections, quick corner transitions, and fun jump faces instead of wide-open, high-speed straightaways. The dirt gets real care. A commercial agricultural irrigation system lets the crew soak the track deep, so it builds moisture, forms good ruts, and stays off the dust even through a hot Texas summer. The base blends red dirt, sand sections, and sandy loam, and because the soil holds water so well, Bowie often opens right after regional rain when other North Texas tracks are flooded out. Practice runs Sundays from 10am to 3pm, with occasional summer hours of 9am to 2pm to beat the heat, so check their Facebook before hauling out. All-day practice is $30 per rider for big bikes and $20 for minis 85cc and under, and spectators are typically free on normal practice days, which keeps a family trackday cheap. Forgiving jump designs make it a strong track for kids and adult beginners, while advanced riders still get plenty of layout to stack lap times on. Plan to be self-sufficient. Free primitive dry camping is allowed for riders hauling in the night before, but there are no electric hookups and no concessions, so bring shade canopies, tools, fuel, and water.
