Lone Star MX

Lone Star MX is a family-owned motocross park right on the I-35 frontage road in Belton, in the heart of Central Texas. Run by the Navarro family, the track has built its reputation on exceptional daily prep: the dirt is watered and tilled every day, so it forms deep lines and holds traction with minimal dust. The main track is a multi-level layout that riders of any age or bike size can enjoy, with safe but engaging jump faces, tabletops, and massive sweeping berms. A dedicated vet track, a pee-wee track for beginners, and a separate Stacyc, Strider, and BMX loop round out the property, and when the place gets busy the staff runs structured 20-minute practice rotations that keep youth riders and big bikes separated. Night riding is the signature. Wednesday and Thursday evening sessions run 5pm to 10pm under the stadium lights, an easy way for local riders to break up the work week, and weekend practice runs Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm. Central Texas weather moves fast, so the owners post rainout notices and schedule changes straight to their Facebook and Instagram. Practice runs $35 to $40 per rider for an all-day pass, and the gate is cash only, with no extra gate or spectator fees on standard practice days. The property has restrooms, showers, a concession stand, wheelchair-accessible parking and entrances, and dry primitive camping for multi-day race weekends. Dirt bike rentals and riding lessons are available, which makes Lone Star one of the easier Central Texas tracks for a first taste of motocross. Racing shows up on the calendar too, headlined by the Lone Star MX Independence Night Race, which packs more than 30 classes under the lights.
