Whitetail MX

Whitetail MX sits on Casson Road in Lindley, right on the New York side of the Pennsylvania line in the Southern Tier. It started in 2017 as a kid's idea to build a track in his parents' field, and it is still run by the same family on the same 20 acres, looking out over the Pennsylvania valley.

The main track is prepped natural terrain with a proper starting gate line and enough rhythm to keep local level racers honest, watered through the day rather than left to blow out. Alongside it sits a separate kids track, a youth layout that stays open all day on race weekends for mini bike and mini quad practice, which means the smallest riders are not waiting on the big track's schedule.

The season runs as a handful of race weekends rather than open riding all summer, and each one follows the same shape: Saturday is open practice, Sunday is racing under WNYMA. Saturday practice runs 9 AM to 2 PM with sign-up at the pavilion at $40 per rider. Sunday race sign-ups open at 7 AM, the race meeting is at 8:15 AM, and racing follows straight after.

Gates open Friday afternoon from 3 PM to 10 PM so you can get set up the night before, then Saturday 7:30 AM to 10 PM. Gate fee is $20 per person with non-riders under 8 free, and both memberships and day passes are sold on race weekends. Camping is available for the weekend and there is barn stored firewood on site at $20 a bucket.

These weekends are built to keep families around for both days, not just the motos. The kitchen is open Saturday and Sunday, there is bingo on Saturday after practice, and live music on Saturday evening. Racing and announcements are simulcast on 87.9 FM, so you can follow the program from the pits.

Outside the race weekends the track runs a members-only practice program on scheduled Wednesday evenings from 3 PM to 8:30 PM, weather permitting, with the track fully groomed and rider numbers capped at 50 for the season. The published rates run from $550 for a single rider up to $1,900 for a family of four. The property is also available for track rental and pavilion rental, arranged with the family directly.

Whitetail is an easy run off I-86 for riders around Corning, Painted Post and the wider Steuben County area, and it is one of the closest active motocross tracks for northern Pennsylvania riders crossing the line. Miles Mountain MX in Elkland is under five miles away as the crow flies, about ten minutes down the road, so a two track weekend is genuinely realistic here in a way it rarely is anywhere else.
