Diamondback MX

"Built by racers, for racers." Recently relocated to Carlisle facility (Diamondback MX 3.0).

What riders find

Diamondback MX is on its third location. The current operation is branded Diamondback MX 3.0, and the version number is honest about the property's history of starting, stopping, and restarting under different ownership and at different addresses across the Northeast. The 3.0 generation operates in Schoharie County in central New York, in the rolling hill country between Albany and Binghamton.

Most motocross facilities that close stay closed. Land use realities push moto facilities out of growing markets, and the operators usually move on to something else. Diamondback's repeated revivals reflect the operators' commitment to keeping the brand and the operation alive, and the current 3.0 location is the latest iteration of that commitment.

The track is built by racers for racers, which is one of those phrases that gets thrown around easily but in Diamondback's case reflects an actual operating philosophy. The current generation incorporates layout lessons from the prior versions of the facility, with configurable layouts that let the property adapt to different event formats and sanctioning bodies without major track reconstruction.

AMA District sanctioning runs through the Metropolitan Sports Committee, one of the more respected amateur sanctioning bodies in the Northeast. MSC organizes the broader New York City-area amateur calendar, so a Diamondback round counts for points on the regional schedule that pulls riders from across the New York metro area and the Mid-Hudson and Mohawk Valley regions.

Practice and racing schedules are published through the property's contact channels rather than a fixed weekly schedule. The flexibility reflects the racer-built operating model, which prioritizes adjusting around the sanctioning body calendars and weather. Anyone planning a trip should contact (845) 554-8717 to confirm current practice availability.

Schoharie County puts Diamondback in central New York's farm country. Albany is about 45 minutes east on Interstate 88. Binghamton is 90 minutes south on I-88. New York City is roughly three hours via I-87 and I-88 for major event weekends.

The Diamondback brand has been a fixture of the New York amateur motocross scene through multiple property incarnations. The 3.0 location reflects an operator's commitment to keeping the program alive even as individual properties have come and gone. That kind of brand continuity across multiple physical locations is rare in American motocross.
