Profile

What riders find at Utica-Rome Motocross.

Utica-Rome Motocross, or URMX, is a motocross track set right on the grounds of the historic Utica-Rome Speedway in Vernon, New York. The speedway is best known for its stock-car oval, but the MX track has built its own reputation as a go-to venue for local and regional dirt bike racers. URMX runs under CNYMRA (Central New York) District 3 and is a regular stop for major regional racing, including legs of the Battle of NY Series and CNYMRA double-points weekends. The class list is deep, with room for just about every age and skill bracket: youth divisions (51cc Jr/Sr, 65cc, Mini, and Schoolboy) on up through Collegeboy, 25+ Open, and the Vet classes. A typical race weekend opens early Saturday for practice and setup, then runs qualifiers and main events through Sunday. Sharing the speedway property means there is plenty of room to spread out, with generous staging space, parking, and overnight camping right on-site. Camping is free and first-come, tents or campers, around the perimeter of the parking area. Two concession stands run full menus, so you will not go hungry between motos: think sausage, cheesesteaks, and pizza logs. Schedules move, so check the Utica Rome Motocross Facebook page for race dates, gate fees, and track conditions before you load up.
