Profile

What riders find at ADK MX (Adirondack MX).

ADK MX, formally Adirondack MX, in Fort Ann, New York is a 1.2-mile motocross track built on a former golf course. The golf-course-to-motocross conversion is the property's most distinctive piece of history, and the resulting terrain delivers something that few American motocross facilities can match. The red dirt and clay mixture is nearly rock-free, which is genuinely rare for the Adirondack region. Most Adirondack-area tracks deal with rocky soil that produces conservative line choice and front-tire-grip uncertainty. ADK MX's golf-course origin left behind soil that the original landscapers carefully cleared of rocks for fairway maintenance, and the motocross operation inherited that rock-free surface. Riders who have ridden Adirondack-region tracks elsewhere notice the difference immediately. The layout incorporates 4 tabletops, step-on and step-off jumps, berms, a ski jump, doubles, triples, and a sand section. The obstacle variety reflects intentional layout design rather than minimal-spec regional construction. The ski jump in particular gives the property a distinctive feature that no other regional motocross facility offers. An on-site restaurant in the old clubhouse serves food daily. The clubhouse-as-restaurant is the operational legacy of the property's golf-course past, and it gives ADK MX an amenity that almost no other American motocross facility can claim. Real food in an actual restaurant, daily, on the motocross property. 30 acres of parking handles the broader visiting crowd. On-site camping handles multi-day stays and weekend trips. The amenity stack supports the property's identity as a true weekend destination. Operations run April through October for motocross. The seasonal calendar reflects the Adirondack-region climate. In winter, the property doubles as snowmobile trails, which extends the operating year and keeps the property generating revenue across the calendar. The Fort Ann location is in Washington County, in eastern upstate New York near the Vermont border. Glens Falls is about 20 minutes south, Saratoga Springs is roughly 45 minutes south, and the broader Capital Region and southern Adirondacks pull riders from across the area. Albany is about an hour and 15 minutes south for visiting weekend riders. For upstate New York motocross riders, having a rock-free golf-course-conversion facility with an actual restaurant in the clubhouse is its own kind of motocross story. adkmx.com for the current schedule and operating information.
