Range Riders MX

Range Riders MX is the summer motocross side of the Range Snowmobile Club in Michigan's Upper Peninsula near Houghton, and it holds the title of the furthest north motocross track in Michigan. The varied, regularly groomed and watered layout is well regarded by regional riders, and the property runs as a year-round motorsports hub, shifting from winter snowmobile racing to dedicated motocross in the warmer months.

Range Riders hosts competitive double-header race weekends for regional circuits including District 16 and the Superior MX Series. Race weekends typically open the gates Thursday afternoon, with practice Friday and multi-class racing Saturday and Sunday. The track is also open for evening riding from 6pm to dark. Onsite camping and a clubhouse with a bar and kitchen round out the facility, which offers a large open field layout with wheelchair-accessible parking.

The pedigree runs deep: this is one of the oldest and most historic motocross facilities in the Upper Peninsula, set in Copper Country where the South Range, Atlantic Mine, and Houghton borders meet against a backdrop rich in mining heritage. Riders who make the trip call it a hidden gem, a fast, technical layout with excellent dirt, natural elevation, high-flying jumps, and a pond on the grounds. Race days run registration from 10 to 11:30 AM with racing at noon, classes cover everyone from 50cc kids through Vet and A/B riders, and spectators get in free. Racers carry a $35 annual club membership, rustic camping runs $20 a night per unit, and the club keeps weekends lively with food and bar service, local U.P. food trucks, and parts vendors alongside the clubhouse.
