10 Pines Ranch

10 Pines Ranch is the newest motocross facility in Northern Michigan, a family-owned club on 105 wooded acres off West Elder Road in Mancelona, between Gaylord and Traverse City. Ten families bought the land in the fall of 2021, cleared it themselves, got it sanctioned by the AMA and District 14, and held the first race in October 2022.

The property does more than motocross. The main track is a one mile outdoor MX course cut through the trees, and it hosts AMA District 14 motocross weekends, the June 2026 round included. A separate mini track keeps the little bikes off the big track. Out in the woods there are 7.2 miles of single track and a technical enduro section, which is why the ranch also gets a round of the AMA District 14 Hare Scramble Series each spring.

This is not a show-up-and-ride track. Outside of race weekends the ranch operates by appointment: private rentals run in 2, 4 and 8 hour blocks ($350 for up to 5 riders, $550 or $900 for up to 10, with a per-rider add-on beyond that and half down to reserve), and open ride days and training sessions get announced on the 10 Pines Ranch Facebook page. Race sign-up runs online through Trackside Pre-Reg, and youth racers need the AMA minor release printed and with them at the gate.

Race weekends are built for families: camping on the property, several spectator areas along the track (no seating, so bring a chair), a kids play area with a gaga pit, and a food truck on site. Questions go to [email protected].
