Mecosta MX

Mecosta MX is a family run public motocross practice and race facility in Mecosta, Michigan, roughly halfway between Big Rapids and Mount Pleasant, and one of West Michigan's newest tracks. The 29 acre property is owner-operated with no corporate layer: the people prepping the dirt are the ones at the gate. The one mile big track winds through pine trees and natural terrain with safe but challenging jumps, rollers, and berms that work for everyone from beginners to fast racers, while a completely separate mini track gives kids, pit bikes, and first timers their own space to build skills away from big bikes. Open ride days typically run Wednesdays 2 to 7 PM and weekends 11 AM to 4 PM at $30 per rider with a $5 gate fee, cash only, and everything is weather dependent, so check the Facebook page before you haul (the weekly schedule and closures post there first). Riders sign waivers online ahead of time at mecostamx.com. The track hosts local outlaw races and traveling training clinics, is pursuing AMA District 14 sanctioned events, and allows primitive overnight camping for multi-day weekends.
