WW Ranch Motocross Park in Jacksonville is Florida's #1-ranked motocross track and one of only two facilities in the entire United States that hosts both the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross National AND the FIM MXGP of USA every season. That alone puts it in rare air, the Southeast's premier motocross destination, drawing factory teams, international privateers, and 50,000-plus spectators across the two race weekends each year. The facility sits on 600 acres on the west side of Jacksonville off Otis Road, on land owned by the Padgett family who built the track from scratch in the late 1990s and grew it into the powerhouse it is today. The dirt is the headline attribute: deep sandy northeast Florida soil that drinks Florida rain and stays grippy through the wettest summers, with subtle natural elevation that gives the layout real character. The pro track features extended rhythm sections, a signature finish-line jump, and the kind of off-camber turns that humble riders coming in from harder-pack Midwest dirt. Multiple tracks operate on the property, including a peewee track for the youngest riders and dedicated practice loops for amateurs. Practice runs select days only, typically weekends and select weekday afternoons, and the schedule rotates seasonally. Always call (904) 318-4096 or check the WW Ranch Facebook page before driving in, because race weekends and prep days close the property to public practice. Camping is available year-round and is one of the facility's standout features for a U.S. motocross park: 24/7 access, electric and water RV hookups (no sewer service), real restrooms with showers, and a concession stand on race weekends. The Lucas Oil Pro National typically runs in October, while the MXGP of USA falls in late summer, book lodging, RV reservations, or local rentals at least four months ahead because the entire West Side fills up. Beyond the marquee races, WW Ranch hosts the Mini O's amateur championship in November (the biggest amateur race of its kind in the East), state championship rounds, and arrive-and-ride open-practice days. The facility also operates a year-round training calendar with visiting pros and structured camps. From downtown Jacksonville it's about 20 minutes; from Atlanta, six hours; from Orlando, two and a half. The track's proximity to I-10 and I-95 makes it a natural stop for riders trailering through the Southeast, and the surrounding St. Marys area has plenty of mid-range hotels and chain restaurants for race-weekend overflow. WW Ranch consistently ranks #1 in rider polls because it delivers on every dimension: pro-caliber dirt, year-round availability, real amenities, and the kind of historical pedigree that comes from hosting national events for over two decades. If you ride anywhere in the Southeast and have not yet logged a day at WW Ranch, you're missing the gold standard. The track gets full prep before practice days and the watering crew keeps the surface tacky even in mid-summer Florida heat.
