600-acre national-caliber sand facility that has hosted the Pro Motocross National and MXGP of USA. Elite training amenities, RV hookups, select-date practice.
What riders find
WW Ranch Motocross Park in Jacksonville, widely known as Double WW Ranch, is Florida's heavyweight: a 600-acre family-owned facility on the city's west side with a resume few American tracks can touch. The Padgett family built the track from scratch in the late 1990s and grew it into a venue that has hosted both the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship National and the FIM Motocross World Championship's MXGP of USA, putting Jacksonville on the world calendar and drawing factory teams and international fields to Otis Road.
The dirt does the recruiting. Northeast Florida sand mixed with loam and clay runs deep, drinks summer rain, and rewards commitment; plenty of intermediate and advanced regulars bolt on a paddle-style tire to find drive in the deepest sections. The layout is wide, fast, and national-caliber, with massive man-made elevation (the mountain section is the landmark), pro-grade tabletops and doubles, long rhythm and whoop sections, and sweeping straights that let big bikes stretch out.
Off the track it runs more like a training compound than a practice pit. Pro riders and coaching outfits like Club57MX work here regularly, using the on-site gym, mechanical repair rooms, an elevated classroom tower for track study, a laundry room, and outdoor showers to rinse off the sand. Families get manicured, shaded grass parking, RV electric and water hookups, elevated bleachers with wide-angle views, free Wi-Fi, and a food vendor whose menu runs from track burgers to fresh seafood. Camping infrastructure makes multi-day training stays easy.
The catch, and it is worth planning around: there is no fixed weekly schedule. The park opens to the public on select posted dates and race weekends only, professionally prepped and watered when it does. Beyond the pro-race pedigree, the calendar still carries major amateur racing, including Loretta Lynn's Southeast area qualifying and Florida state championship events. Call (904) 318-4096 before you haul, and expect practice around $25 for members and $35 for non-members when the gates swing open.
