What riders find
Hardrock Cycle Park is permanently closed and no longer open for riding or events.
Hardrock Cycle Park in Ocala is the rare motocross facility that gives you six completely different race tracks plus three levels of off-road trails, all on 100 acres in the heart of Florida horse country. The main attraction is the 2-mile National Caliber Motocross Track, a layout that's hosted regional championships and amateur national qualifiers, with elevation changes and rhythm sections that punch above what most Florida facilities offer. Adjacent to the main, the European-style Rollercoaster Track is the facility's signature offering, flowing, fast, and built on natural terrain in a way you almost never see in the Southeast. The Outback Track adds technical, twisty riding for intermediates; the Sand Track gives riders a dedicated soft-soil surface for working on technique; and a half-mile Expert/Intermediate section connects key portions of the property for riders who want to chain laps across multiple layouts. The remaining tracks include skill-graded loops for novices and vintage-class riders. The off-road side of the operation is just as serious: three difficulty-rated trail systems wind through the surrounding pine woods and natural Florida scrub, giving cross-discipline riders a real woods riding experience without leaving the property. Hardrock is one of the few Florida tracks that legitimately accommodates a full motocross-AND-enduro weekend. Practice schedule runs Monday through Sunday, 10am to 5pm, every day of the week, year-round. The pricing structure is simple: $35 annual membership (good through December 31), then $20 per day for members; $25 per day for non-members without the annual fee. That makes Hardrock one of the more affordable serious motocross facilities in Florida, especially for riders who hit the track regularly. Skill levels are clearly defined, Novice, Intermediate, Expert, and Vintage classes use appropriate tracks during peak hours, which keeps the speed differential manageable on busy weekends. The location is dead center in the state: Ocala, off NW Gainesville Road, with easy access from I-75. From Tampa it's about 90 minutes; from Jacksonville, about 90 minutes; from Orlando, also 90 minutes; from Tallahassee, around three hours. Ocala is horse country first and motocross country second, so the surrounding area has plenty of mid-range hotels, chain restaurants, and ranch-style Airbnbs for race weekends. Marion County also operates several other off-road and recreation facilities nearby, making Hardrock a legitimate weekend destination rather than a one-track stop. The dirt is the natural Florida sand-loam-and-pine-needle mix that's gentle on bikes but rewards proper technique. Hardrock grooms regularly, waters during dry stretches, and the multi-track layout means there's always one section in fresh prep regardless of how busy the weekend gets. For riders who care about variety, value, and consistent year-round access, Hardrock Cycle Park is one of the best motocross destinations in the Southeast.
