The Panhandle's old-school family park: deep-sand 1-mile main with clay-faced jumps, pee-wee track, and pine woods trails. Weekends only, ~$30, shaded pits.
What riders find
Milton MX is the Florida Panhandle's old-school family ride park, an 18-plus-acre facility on Fairlands Road curated for decades by the Ashe family. The formula has never changed: natural layouts, honest prep, and one of the most affordable gates in the state at roughly $30 a rider.
Three riding areas split the property. The main moto track runs about a mile of deep sand over a hard, solid base, with wide sweeping berms, deep ruts, and tabletops whose jump faces get meticulously refaced with imported clay to keep the takeoffs smooth and predictable, challenging for fast riders without punishing beginners. A separated pee-wee track gives kids their own space to learn throttle control, and several miles of single-track woods trails wind through the native pines for hare-scramble and trail riders.
It is purely a weekend destination: Saturdays 9 to 5 and Sundays 10 to 5, with weekdays reserved for watering and heavy machinery. The big oak and pine canopy over the pits is a genuine amenity in Florida heat, primitive camping opens on weekends for the Alabama and south Georgia crowd, and the restrooms are clean permanent structures rather than a porta-john row.
Nine miles up Munson Highway sits sister-in-spirit MX 191, and together the two give Pensacola-area riders a full weekend circuit: Milton for flowing old-school sand, 191 for rough technical training.
