DPG MX Compound sits on Mary's Grove Church Road in Kings Mountain, and it is a private facility rather than a pay-at-the-gate park. It was built by Dimmer's Precision Grading, which shows in the surface: a fully sculpted, professionally graded outdoor motocross course.
Alongside the track is a network of technical single-track trails and woods loops, so the property covers both moto laps and off-road riding across a range of skill levels.
Access is the thing to understand before planning a trip. The compound does not keep standard daily public hours. Riders get on the property either through a specific open-riding announcement or at an organised event, so the Facebook page is the place to watch. Public open practice weekends have run 11 AM to 5 PM in the past at around $30 per bike.
The property also hosts regional off-road competition, appearing on the Full Gas Off-Road Series circuit for sprint enduro and cross-country racing that draws riders from across the Carolinas.
