What riders find
Sandridge MX is a sand-based motocross and ATV track in Chinquapin, in eastern North Carolina's Duplin County. True to the name, the surface is loose sand, which makes it a great place to work on throttle control and cornering in soft ruts. The layout is built for all skill levels: most of it is beginner-friendly, with a few rhythm sections and jumps that give intermediate riders something to hit. There are no steep hill climbs, mud pits, hardpack, or hidden rocks, so it stays approachable.
Both dirt bikes and four-wheelers are welcome, and the gates are open daily from dawn to dusk, so you are not boxed into weekend-only track time. Admission is an easy $15 per rider. Sandridge also hosts a round of the Coastal Carolina Motocross (CCMX) series.
Because the sand rides on natural conditions, it is worth a call or a look at the SandRidge Motocross Facebook page before you haul out: (910) 271-1557.
