What riders find
Tri City MX Park shares its grounds with the historic Tri-City Raceway Park on State Route 417 outside Franklin, a venue whose half-mile dirt oval has been turning left since 1954. Under owners Josh and Kyrsten Shiffer the infield gained a high-caliber motocross track, and massive earthworks are underway to scale it into a full-size, national-caliber MX layout. The riding experience breaks the old oval-infield stereotype: instead of rock-hard blue groove, the dirt is regularly tilled, heavily prepped, and watered into deep loam with real rut options, and the layout is progressive and safe enough for novices while packing jump options that challenge A-class pros. Race days run lean and quick, with a streamlined class structure instead of a program bloated with micro-classes, practice from 9:30 and gates dropping around 11:30. Entries are $40 per class with cash payouts across multiple classes rather than trophies alone, the gate is $15 for adults (12 plus), $5 for kids 6 to 11, and free for 5 and under, no membership required. The oval heritage pays off for spectators: grandstand sightlines cover the track, parking is expansive, and full concessions run out of the main facilities on bike days.
