Ohio International Raceway

Ohio International Raceway in Ravenna, Ohio goes back to 1970 and hosted Trans-AMA and National motocross events during the 1970s, which puts it among the earliest organized motocross facilities in the country. Trans-AMA was the major American motocross series of that era, so this dirt carried championship-level racing when the sport was still taking shape in the U.S. More than 55 years of continuous operation builds the kind of multi-generational rider community and track-prep knowledge that newer facilities cannot rush, and not many American tracks can make the same claim.

Today the property runs three tracks. The 1.1-mile adult motocross track carries the main sessions. A 4-mile harescramble loop adds real cross-country riding for the off-road crowd. A dedicated peewee track keeps the youngest riders away from main-track traffic. Between the three, one admission covers motocross, hare scramble training, and kids' riding, so mixed households and cross-discipline riders both get their dirt.

The calendar runs on select practice and racing dates rather than daily open hours, which is typical of heritage clubs, so check ahead before making the drive.

The track sits in northeast Ohio between Cleveland and Akron, off Newton Falls Road in Ravenna, which puts both metro areas within practical drive time. Riders in Portage County, including Ravenna, Kent, Aurora, Stow, Cuyahoga Falls, Akron, Cleveland, Youngstown, and the I-76 and Route 5 corridors, have it as a local option, and Pittsburgh riders make the trip west for the track's Trans-AMA history.
