Lightning Raceway

Lightning Raceway is 163 acres of motocross track and woods trails on Craigo Road outside Tippecanoe, Ohio, in the hills of Harrison County about 40 minutes south of New Philadelphia and an hour and a half from Pittsburgh. The pitch is as simple as it gets: open riding seven days a week, daylight to dark, $10 a rider, unless a race is scheduled. Bikes, quads and side-by-sides all ride, helmets are required, and there is no night riding.

The motocross track is a natural-terrain outdoor course that doubles as a Competition Riders of America (CRA) race venue, and the trail system across the property hosts CRA hare scrambles and, in September 2026, the US Hard Enduro Lightning Strikes. The 2026 CRA calendar brought motocross here on May 24, August 16 and October 25 (a Sunoco Series round) with hare scrambles in April, August and the November Sweatshirt Race. CRA race days run on the series' standard fees, a $15 gate and $30 sign-up per class, and the track promises every race-day entry a guaranteed top-10 place.

Stay the night: primitive camping is included with the riding fee and the firewood is free if you bring a saw. The property closes the week before its biggest events to prep, so check the Lightning Raceway Facebook page before a long haul. Call or text 740-229-1313 with questions.
