Sunrise MX (Racetown 395)

Sunrise MX, also called Racetown 395, sits in the High Desert off the 395 in Adelanto, California, with a main track and a smaller beginner loop both built on sand and decomposed granite, dirt that drinks water but holds its shape.

The High Desert location gives Sunrise its character. It is far enough from the LA basin to be real desert riding, with the natural elevation, dry climate, and dust that define Southern California desert motocross. Riders coming up from the metro feel the difference as soon as they unload: this is desert riding, not basin riding.

The soil is the other half of the story. Sand drains fast, which keeps the track usable through SoCal's short wet season, and the decomposed granite mixed in holds shape through the corners, giving a predictable surface for consistent training.

The two layouts keep mixed-skill groups from fighting over the same dirt: experienced riders on the main track, newer riders progressing on the beginner loop.

The track runs an active weekend practice schedule, but call ahead to confirm hours before driving out. High Desert tracks often shift hours seasonally to dodge summer afternoon heat.

For High Desert and Inland Empire locals in Victorville, Adelanto, Apple Valley, Hesperia, and Phelan, Sunrise is the closest dedicated motocross track. LA and Orange County riders come up the 15 and over the Cajon Pass for the desert escape, and the easy 395 access in and out of Victorville makes it a simple trip.
