Club Moto Motocross Track

Club Moto is a motocross track on Altamont Pass Road in Livermore, California, on the east edge of the Bay Area just off Interstate 580. It has been cutting lines since 1995 and serves everyone from first-time riders to AMA pros, young and old. The facility is owned and run by Mike Sexton, a well known track builder and designer who also operates Argyll MX Park in Dixon, and the two tracks share race series, registration and merchandise.

The main track is a GP-style race layout on natural terrain with plenty of elevation change and man-made obstacles, disked and rototilled every day it is open, with sand and wood chips worked into the soil for loamy conditions and a layout that gets changed often. A fairly tame mini track is kept hard packed and smooth for the little bikes. Both tracks are watered and groomed every open day, high-powered lights allow after-dark riding and racing, and there is a big grassy picnic area with a built-in barbecue pit.

Open practice runs Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM to 2 PM, split into groups as needed, for $50 per rider on the big track, $20 on the kids track and $5 for spectators. Races run through the year, including Bay OTHG vet races and Pro MX events, with registration on Trackside. Loud bikes are pulled from the track, so bring a stock muffler (spark arrestors are not required), and quads are not allowed. Every rider signs a waiver; riders under 18 need waivers signed by both parents and themselves on file, with both parents present or the waivers notarized. Track rental is available for birthday parties, private ride days and other events. Getting there: take the Greenville Road exit east off 580, turn right on Altamont Pass Road, and the track is on the right.
