Stillwater MX

Stillwater MX in Redding, California is one of NorCal's newest motocross tracks, built from scratch and opened in June 2021. That's the key context. Most regional tracks have been running for decades on slowly deteriorating terrain; Stillwater was designed on fresh dirt with current riders in mind.

Two tracks share the property: a main track and a kids loop. Parents and kids can ride at the same time without trading sessions, and the kids-only loop keeps the youngest riders clear of main-track traffic. A snack bar handles food and drink on-site, so there's no town run mid-day.

The calendar includes NorCal AMA District 36 events and the Stillwater Grand Prix, which gives the track a real racing identity beyond open practice. Riders chasing District 36 series points have a home venue in far northern California.

Redding is the practical northern edge of regular NorCal motocross. Stillwater pulls riders from Chico, Marysville, Sacramento, Oroville, Red Bluff, and the valley north of the Sacramento metro; it is the only major facility this far up the I-5 corridor. Shasta County locals ride it as the home track, Sacramento and northern Central Valley riders run north when the southern tracks get crowded, and Oregon riders looking south end up here too.
