Comp Edge MX

Was a popular SoCal facility with four individually fenced tracks. Closed early 2019.

What riders find

Comp Edge MX in Hesperia, California closed permanently in early 2019, ending a run as one of the busiest motocross facilities in the High Desert. The property is no longer operating as a motocross park. For more than a decade before the closure, Comp Edge was a fixture of the Southern California practice scene, drawing riders from the Inland Empire, San Bernardino County, and the Los Angeles basin up the 15 freeway to log laps in the High Desert.

At its peak, Comp Edge ran four individually fenced motocross tracks built for different skill levels. The Main Track served pro and experienced amateur riders with a Pro-style layout, the Vet Track gave older riders cleaner lines and softer landings, an Intermediate Track provided a step between, and a Beginner / PeeWee Track served new riders and kid bikes. The individually fenced layout was the property's distinguishing feature. Riders could practice at their own pace without sharing space with bikes outside their skill window, an arrangement most multi-track California facilities do not provide.

The High Desert location was both a strength and a constraint. The drier, breezier climate kept the property rideable during summer months when Inland Empire tracks below the Cajon Pass shut down because of heat, but the same exposure meant the property dealt with high winds, dust, and the kind of fast-drying dirt that required heavy watering to stay tacky. Operating costs in the High Desert moto market shifted in ways that did not work for the property's economic model, and the operation wound down in 2019.

For riders looking for the closest active High Desert alternatives today, two tracks fill most of the gap. Cal City MX Park, about 90 minutes north in California City, runs a long-established practice and racing program on similar high-desert dirt. Sunrise MX, formerly known as Racetown 395, sits in Adelanto about 30 minutes north of the old Comp Edge property and runs a regular practice schedule on multiple tracks. For Inland Empire riders, both options keep the High Desert riding tradition alive without the drive back to Comp Edge's old gates.

The Comp Edge property remains in private hands and has not been redeveloped as a motocross facility. The fenced track layouts are gone, the irrigation infrastructure has been removed, and the property no longer supports motocross use.

For anyone searching for Comp Edge MX, motocross tracks in Hesperia, or High Desert MX practice near the San Bernardino area, this listing is the canonical record. Comp Edge is closed, the property is no longer hosting motocross, and the High Desert scene has shifted to Cal City MX and Sunrise MX for daily practice.
