Midwest MX (formerly Westfair MX)

Midwest MX, known for years as Westfair MX, is a volunteer run motocross track set in the rolling loess hills of the Westfair Fairgrounds and Amphitheater grounds, right off Highway 6 east of Council Bluffs, Iowa. The track is leased and managed by Brett Beverage's Midwest MX LLC in partnership with Westfair, with a stated mission of preserving and growing local motocross: safe, family friendly, and open to every age and skill level. It is the amateur racing hub for the western Iowa and Omaha metro scene, drawing riders from ages 4 to 70 and serving as the home of the Midwest MX Series points championship.

The main track uses the natural bluffs for a fast, hilly layout with good elevated viewing for spectators. A new mini track gives the youngest riders, pit bikes and e-bikes their own layout, and it hosts the Fall Mini Moto Series with 14 classes, including two for e-bikes. Races run with Caution Z safety lights to signal riders around the track, and the facility brings in training camps, including two-day Innovative MX and US Motorcycle Coaching Association clinics for every bike size and skill level.

The operation runs on a race weekend rhythm rather than daily practice. Saturdays bring fully prepped practice from about 10 AM to mid afternoon, split into groups by machine size and skill. Sundays run the full race program: sign-up from 6:30 to 8 AM, the riders meeting at 8:10, practice, then racing. Entry costs stay grassroots: roughly $18 to $20 gate admission on a weekend wristband, $20 Saturday practice, and $35 to $40 first-class race entries, with Pro and Open Outlaw money classes at $45 paying 200% back to the podium, plus crowd pleasers like the Pitbike Dash for Cash before intermission.

Free primitive camping comes with event entry (no water or electric at the track area), parking is free, and fairground food vendors keep the burgers, pizza, and funnel cakes coming.
