40-acre central Iowa facility. Main outdoor + 2 mini tracks for young riders. Community-focused.
What riders find
Oak Ridge MX in Garwin is a 40-acre central Iowa motocross track, family-built and family-run, with a main outdoor track plus two separate mini tracks dedicated to young riders.
The two mini tracks are the standout design decision. Most family-oriented tracks run a single beginner loop; Oak Ridge gives young riders at different levels their own dirt, so a family with several kids can have everyone riding at once on terrain that fits each of them instead of trading sessions all day. That is how multi-kid moto families actually ride, and the property is laid out for it.
Oak Ridge was founded in 2011 and the property opened in 2013 after the build-out. More than a decade running the same central Iowa dirt means the crew knows how the soil preps, how the seasons play out, and what the local rider base wants from a weekend.
The whole place runs family-friendly and community-focused, and that carries into the pricing, the race calendar, and the track prep priorities. Tracks built around community access tend to stay accessible, and Oak Ridge has.
For riders in Tama County and central Iowa (Garwin, Tama, Toledo, Marshalltown, Grundy Center, Eldora, and the Highway 30 and Highway 14 corridors), Oak Ridge is the family track close to home. Cedar Rapids and Iowa City riders come west, Des Moines riders head northeast, and Waterloo and Cedar Falls riders run south for the same reason.
