CronkyTonk MX

CronkyTonk MX in Fairfield is a newly built (2023-2024) motocross track and the largest of its kind in Southeast Iowa. New construction means everything on the property reflects current track-building practice, from layout flow and feature geometry to how the surface gets managed, rather than an old layout patched forward year after year.

The main track runs over 3/4 of a mile and is genuinely big: the hills and trees block the view from the north edge to the south. Scale like that is unusual at the regional level, and it shows the operators built for real destination riding rather than a practice loop in a flat field.

Organized practice runs with capacity for 40-plus bikes. Most regional tracks cannot put 40 riders on the surface at once without compromising safety and track conditions; CronkyTonk's size and design carry that traffic comfortably.

The track hosts AMA-sanctioned Iowa Moto Series rounds, so riders chasing state-series points get a home venue with a legitimate, predictable race day, and the AMA sanction means the program meets national amateur racing standards.

For riders in Jefferson County and Southeast Iowa (Fairfield, Ottumwa, Mount Pleasant, Burlington, Keokuk, and the Highway 34 and US-218 corridors), CronkyTonk is the big newer track in the region. Des Moines metro riders head southeast for it, Quad Cities riders run south for the series racing, and Cedar Rapids and Iowa City riders come down for the scale alone.
