FDMX at Sports Park Raceway

FDMX is a motocross promotion group and track that runs on the grounds of Sports Park Raceway on South River Road in Fort Dodge, Iowa, just outside Otho on the south edge of town, sharing the property with the raceway's half-mile dirt oval. The crew broke ground on the motocross track and built it into a race venue that now hosts its own FDMX Spring Classic each May, presented by RJ Powersports Fort Dodge, and a round of the Iowa Moto Series in June, drawing riders from across the state.

This is a race-weekend track rather than a daily practice facility. On a race weekend the gates open Friday at 4 PM for an evening practice with sign-up from 5 to 7, Saturday is a prepped practice day from 9 AM to 3 PM at $35 per class with early race sign-up from 2 to 5, and Sunday is race day with gates at 6, sign-up at 6:30, practice at 8 and racing to follow. Entry is $40 per class with 200 percent payback in Open A and 250 A, AMA membership is required, the 2026 minor release must be on file, and scoring runs on NER transponder timing with pre-registration through Trackside Pre-Reg. Gate fees are $20 Friday, $20 Saturday and $15 Sunday with kids 4 and under free, pit vehicles cost $20 and are for adults only, and camping is free. The 2026 Spring Classic added a Saturday-evening two-stroke bike show and a Reekers Mods holeshot challenge in 125cc and open divisions.

The class list covers everything from 50cc shaft-drive minis and a mini e-bike class through 65s, 85s, Supermini, Schoolboy, 125, 250 and Open A, B and C, the 14-24 and vet classes from 25 up to 50-plus, beginner, girls and women, so the whole family races on the same weekend. Between race weekends the track has hosted training camps with pro riders Izaih Clark, Mason Kerr and Deegan Hepp. Follow the FDMX Facebook page for dates, and the raceway's schedule at sportsparkraceway.com lists the motocross weekends alongside the oval racing.
