Oldest operating MX track in SC (since 1970s). Natural terrain with elevation, tabletops, loamy turns. Operated by 3 Ring Circus.

What riders find

Strawberry Hill Motocross Raceway in Fountain Inn is the oldest continuously operating motocross track in South Carolina. Built in the 1970s and still running more than 50 years later, it is a natural-terrain track with real elevation changes, tabletops, and grippy loamy turns.

The Upstate hill country does most of the work here. The lap gets its variety from actual topography rather than built-up imported jumps, and the loamy soil holds solid cornering lines all the way around. Tabletops are worked into the natural layout, the kind of features you would expect from a track that has hosted AMA motocross since the 1970s.

Access is scheduled, not daily. Open practice runs a few times a month, weekday riding is available by appointment, and multiple races fill out the season, so verify operating dates before you drive. The track is run by 3 Ring Circus, the long-running organization behind its race program.

For riders in Fountain Inn, Simpsonville, Mauldin, Greenville, Greer, Anderson, Spartanburg, and the I-385 / I-85 corridor, Strawberry Hill is the local heritage track. Asheville riders come south for the AMA racing and Charlotte riders run southwest into the Upstate for the same reason.

Find it in Upstate South Carolina, southeast of Greenville near I-385. If a half century of continuous motocross history matters more to you than new commercial polish, this is the state's longest-running track.

The riding splits three ways: the roughly 1-mile main track, old-school natural terrain with heavy braking bumps, wide sweepers, triples, and deep-tilled dirt the regional moto community praises for its maintenance; a dedicated kids loop kept fully separate from big-bike traffic; and a 2-mile shaded woods loop for cross-country style riding. Practice days run structured groups ($30 for adults and minis, $20 for peewees, $5 spectator vehicle pit fee), and race weekends, including regional series like Bar to Bar, run about $20 at the gate with kids 6 and under free and $30 class entries. The concession stand and restaurant area sits elevated above the circuit, giving spectators one of the better views in upstate South Carolina, and primitive camping opens Friday nights ahead of the big race weekends. One firm rule: riders under 18 need a parent or legal guardian present at registration for the minor release, no exceptions.
