Splinter Creek Dirt Riders

Splinter Creek Dirt Riders, officially the Splinter Creek Motorcycle Club, spreads roughly 90 park-like acres just north of Fosterburg outside Alton in the Illinois Metro East. The riding footprint is unusually complete for a club property: two separate multi-elevation motocross tracks loaded with technical corners, rhythm sections, and big-air jumps, a fast TT and scramble course for the sliding crowd, and a 6-mile hare scramble network carved through the woods for enduro riders, with dirt bikes and ATVs both welcome. The club is private, but the gates open to the public for AMA-sanctioned races and regional series with class lineups running from Peewee Open and the 65/85 youth ranks through modern big bikes and senior classes up to plus 60, and Splinter Creek has a taste for the fun stuff too: vintage three-wheeler racing, pit bike shootouts, and team-style East/West Shootout challenges. Race weekends run about $15 at the gate with kids 8 and under free, primitive camping opens on the big weekends, and restrooms are on site. Pits fill fast, so long RVs and oversized trailers park in the designated island zones while the perimeter stays for trucks and small trailers, and pit vehicles keep to idle speed through the campgrounds.
