Dry Lake Motocross Park

Dry Lake Motocross Park in Gypsum, Colorado is western Colorado's big motocross destination: 160 acres and six tracks in the Eagle County high country, operated by the Rocky Mountain Sport Riders (RMSR). For Western Slope riders and the I-70 mountain corridor, it is the closest serious motocross facility outside the Front Range metros.

The six-track lineup is exceptional for the region: a national-spec feature track, an enduro cross loop, a peewee track, an intermediate track, a 1970s-style vintage vet track, and a 4.2-mile perimeter trail for cross-country riding. The vintage vet track is the rare one. Dedicated vintage-style layouts barely exist anywhere, and Dry Lake has built a niche around that era-specific riding experience.

The altitude is the other draw. Eagle County's high-country elevation keeps summer temperatures cool through July and August, a real pull for visiting riders escaping Front Range and desert Southwest heat.

The season runs early May through the end of September, set by the snowmelt and freeze cycle at altitude. RMSR membership plus a daily pass are both required for access; this is a member club, not an open-practice track.

Local riders in Gypsum, Eagle, Vail, Avon, and Edwards, plus the broader Glenwood Springs and Aspen region, treat Dry Lake as the home venue. Denver, Boulder, and Colorado Springs riders come west on I-70 for the six-track variety and cool summer riding, and Utah riders come east for the same reasons.
