Ivyhill MX

Ivyhill MX is a private motocross training facility on Paige Road in Woodford, Virginia, in Caroline County between Fredericksburg and Richmond. It was founded after 20 years of moto training and a long road to opening in Virginia, with one goal: give competitive riders in the Mid-Atlantic a real training track closer to home. The property is completely private and app driven. There are no open practice days and no walk-ins; the gate stays locked, and riders get in by scanning the QR code they receive after booking a ride day or a training session online.

Public ride days are posted a few at a time and sold per date, split by bike size. Big-bike days take 85 to 450cc riders and Mini Days put 50 and 65cc riders on the main track with the layout adjusted for pee-wees, capped at 20 riders and priced at $60 plus the booking fee. Every rider has to have experience on a full-size MX race track and can safely complete laps at speed, full gear is required any time you are on the track, there is no riding anywhere except to and from the track, and there is zero tolerance for drugs or alcohol. When the weather is iffy the track decides by 6 PM the night before and refunds anyone booked; it cannot credit a cancelled day forward.

Private training is the heart of the place. Sessions start at two hours and run $300 for one rider, $270 if you come back within 30 days, with family discounts and an extra hour available at booking. Riders arrive 30 minutes early for gate check-in, warm up for 10 minutes with the coach watching, work two 50-minute blocks of technique and section drills with radio communication in the helmet, and get every session recorded for video review, then stay on the prepped track as long as they like.
