Virginia Motorsports Park (VMP-MX)

Virginia Motorsports Park (VMP-MX) in Dinwiddie, Virginia is one of the 10 largest motorsports facilities in the world: more than 500 acres holding a quarter-mile dragstrip, a motocross track, a BMX track, and a mud bog arena on a single property. With 23,000 spectator capacity and more than 250,000 annual attendees, this is a true destination venue rather than a typical regional track.

The motocross side runs as the VMP Dirtplex, with open practice days and AMA-sanctioned race events. Riders chasing AMA points have a sanctioned home venue with race-day operations built to handle serious amateur fields.

The multi-discipline calendar is a big part of the appeal. The same property hosts quarter-mile drag racing, motocross, BMX racing, and mud bog events, so there is almost always something running, and plenty of reasons to come back beyond moto weekends.

The history runs deep too. VMP celebrated 30 years of racing in 2024, and the annual Dinwiddie County Fair lands at the park each October, adding a community event on top of the racing schedule.

The park sits in Dinwiddie County southwest of Richmond, off Boydton Plank Road. Riders in Dinwiddie, Petersburg, Colonial Heights, Richmond, Chester, Hopewell, and the I-85 / I-95 corridor are within easy reach. Northern Virginia and D.C. metro riders make the trip south, and Tidewater and Hampton Roads riders run west.
