Lake Sugar Tree Motorsports Park

Lake Sugar Tree Motorsports Park in Axton is a Virginia motocross landmark, historically the first motocross facility east of the Mississippi River, with the first MX race held August 17, 1975. Over its first 16 years, Lake Sugar Tree hosted the AMA Pro Motocross Championship nine times (1975-1991), making it one of the most historically significant venues on the East Coast. Today the 1.7-mile main track is one of four layouts on the property, joined by a Supercross track, a Turn track, and a Pee-Wee track, drawing serious amateur racers from across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast for the Loretta Lynn's Area Qualifier, the Capitol Cup, the Victory Sports Mega Series, the Ultra Series, MAMA events, and the Moonlight Series. Hot showers and proper restrooms, a real comfort upgrade after a long Virginia summer practice day. Limited RV hookups, full concessions during events.
