Charles City Dirt Riders

Charles City Dirt Riders sits on 230+ acres between Richmond and Williamsburg, and the operating model is what sets it apart from most Virginia motocross clubs: a member-only private property running six distinct motocross surfaces plus six miles of woods trails, with a real on-ramp for total beginners.

The track inventory is the headline. A main motocross track, two beginner tracks, an endurocross loop, a flat track, and a TT. That kind of multi-discipline footprint on private property is rare in central Virginia. Most regional facilities run one or two surfaces; CCDR covers nearly every dirt-bike discipline a rider might want to learn.

The Dirt Bike Boot Camp is the access point for riders without their own gear. The club runs half-day, full-day, and multi-day schools using 60+ rental dirt bikes and over $25,000 in rental gear (helmets, boots, goggles, gloves, body armor). Certified instructor with 50+ years of motorcycle experience handles the coaching. The setup means a complete beginner can show up, get fitted, get on a bike, and ride safely the same day.

Bob's Cycle Barn motorcycle museum is on-site, which adds a real heritage layer to a visit. Membership is $495 per year for unlimited single-rider access (2026 rate). Day passes available for trial visits.

Operating days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Monday and Friday are reserved for special-request schools.

For local Virginia riders in Charles City County and the Richmond-Williamsburg-Tidewater triangle, CCDR is the closest dedicated multi-track learning destination. Richmond riders run southeast on Route 5; Williamsburg riders run west; Hampton Roads riders make the trip up the peninsula.
