Year-round dirt, sand for days, and a calendar that pivots around the Daytona Supercross weekend in March. Dade City Raceway is the central-Florida workhorse and one of the longest-running tracks in the country. Bartow, Bone Valley over in the phosphate country, GFI in Ona for the bigger amateur weekends. The sand is real sand: deep, fast, fatigues your forearms by the third lap if you're not used to it. South Florida riders chase loose sand year-round; the panhandle scene runs more like the Georgia or Alabama clay programs. Hurricane season (June through November) takes weekends out of the calendar a couple times a year, and tracks that drain well bounce back faster than the others. Winter is the real season here: pros move down for January and February to escape the snow, and Florida tracks load up with out-of-state plates. Watch for the deep, soft inside lines that lock you into a rut you didn't see coming.
