Maricopa Motorsports Park

Maricopa Motorsports Park is a motocross practice track on Liebre Road in Maricopa, Arizona, roughly 40 miles south of Phoenix in Hidden Valley, near the junction of State Routes 347 and 84. Owner Mike Fay, a lifelong racer who has spent his career in motorcycle shops, opened the 46-acre park in February 2018 after a long county permitting fight, and it has stayed a low-key, rider-run practice spot ever since: no race program, no crowds, just groomed and watered dirt.

The main track runs about a mile of natural-flowing outdoor motocross on soft, sandy soil, a rare find in the hard-packed Phoenix desert. Tabletops, doubles, triples, a step-up, and a rhythm section are laid out for progression, so newer riders can roll everything while faster riders link it all up. Rocky desert ground shows through in places, which makes it a smart spot to bank endurance laps before a desert race. Quads and side-by-sides get their own separate track, and the owner waters the track and the dirt access road heavily to keep dust down.

This is a bare-bones park by design, with basic restrooms, a small crew, and a friendly, look-out-for-each-other vibe instead of flaggers. Open days and gate times are posted on the park's Facebook page, and weekday sessions can hinge on how many riders show up, so check before you load the truck. The park typically shuts down for the summer heat. The MX Factory has brought its coaching clinics here, and every rider signs a waiver at the gate, with notarized parent forms required for minors.
