Windrock Park

73,000 acres, the largest privately-owned riding area in the US. 300+ miles of trails for dirt bikes, ATVs, SxS, Jeeps and more. 20 minutes from Knoxville.

What riders find

Windrock Park in Oliver Springs, Tennessee is the largest privately-owned off-road riding area in the United States: 73,000 acres. For scale, most American motocross facilities sit on 40 to 200 acres and the big destination parks push 250 to 500. Windrock is hundreds of times that size, and the scale shapes everything about how the park works.

More than 300 miles of trails cross the property, ranging from easy family routes to extreme rock crawls, so the same park serves first-timers and hardcore expert riders. The trails are shared across vehicle types: ATVs, side-by-sides, dirt bikes, mountain bikes, Jeeps, buggies, and 4x4 trucks all ride the same system, which makes Windrock a full off-road destination rather than a single-discipline park.

The terrain is Cumberland Plateau mountain rock and dirt, with real grade changes, rocky technical sections, and the kind of Appalachian elevation flat-state OHV parks can't offer.

Access runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year through a land-use permit system; permits are sold online or at the General Store on the property. Round-the-clock access at this scale is rare and fits the park's identity as a destination riding area rather than an event venue.

The amenities support multi-day trips. A campground offers tent sites, full-hookup RV sites, and cabin rentals; there is an outdoor shooting range and a downhill mountain bike park on the property as well.

Oliver Springs is in Anderson County, east Tennessee, about 20 minutes northwest of Knoxville. Great Smoky Mountains National Park is about 90 minutes east, Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area roughly an hour north, and Atlanta about three hours south, so weekend traffic comes from across the Southeast.
