Happy Moto MX

Happy Moto MX is a public motocross practice track in Redmond, Oregon, built by local riders to give central Oregon a track of its own. It sits in town at 4690 SW 19th Street, minutes from hotels, restaurants and hospitals; follow the gravel road past the campground to reach the track.

The course runs just under a mile on a sand and dirt mix with wood shavings worked in for grip. Central Oregon is lava rock country, so the crew dug out more than 400 yards of rock, raised the whole course one to two feet and added organic matter to hold moisture. The jumps are tabletop style on purpose, 15-plus obstacles with the biggest around 80 feet, and the track is shaped to form ruts and bumps because learning to go fast in ruts makes you faster everywhere. Grandstands overlook the track for spectators, and there is plenty of flat, rocked parking.

The track opens only on scheduled practice days, posted on the website, Facebook and Instagram. A typical day is gates at 8 AM and riding from 9 AM to 3 PM, with practice split into groups by bike size and ability: A/B, C/D, Vet 30+, 65/85 and Women. Practice is $40 per rider and covers two certified EMTs, flaggers at every major obstacle and track watering, and 50cc riders ride free thanks to Sisters Moto and K&E Excavation. Register online and sign the waiver before you arrive; minors need a parent or guardian present and the minor waiver on file. Helmets stay on at all times and there is no pit riding. On October 1, 2026 the track posted that it will be happy again soon and told riders to get out and ride other Pacific Northwest tracks in the meantime, so check the calendar before you load up.
