Profile

What riders find at Eugene MX Park.

Eugene MX Park in Junction City, Oregon is one of the rare Pacific Northwest motocross facilities with a professionally designed layout, and the design quality shows up in how the track rides. High-bank berms, multiple jump styles, and a wooded hillside setting give the property a feel few Oregon tracks can match. Most PNW regional facilities are built on flatter parcels and depend on bulldozed berms for any vertical change. Eugene MX uses the southern Willamette Valley hill country instead. The main track is 1.5 miles. That length puts it among the longer Oregon tracks and lets the layout incorporate the kind of straight-and-rhythm variety that shorter loops cannot deliver. The high-bank berm sections are the property's signature feature. Berms hold serious speed when shaped correctly, and Eugene MX's banking gives riders the chance to commit to lines that flat-banked tracks make impossible. Multiple jump styles across the layout let riders practice different skill sets within a single session. A smaller secondary track sits separately for beginners. The secondary track gives newer riders an appropriate-sized layout without the pressure of full-pace traffic on the main loop. The two-track arrangement is the standard family-friendly structure and lets households with mixed-skill riders practice the same property at the same time. Sundays are the operating day. Practice runs at 10am, racing starts around noon. The Sunday-only schedule keeps the track fresh and lets maintenance staff prep between weekends. Pricing is $10 for spectators and riders, with kids 6 and under free. The pricing structure makes Eugene MX one of the more accessible Oregon motocross facilities, and the family-friendly rate keeps the operation reachable for new riders and families just getting into the sport. Camping is available on the property at $10 per night. The basic camping infrastructure handles weekend stays for racers who want to arrive Saturday for a Sunday session. The same operation runs a winter arenacross series at the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem. The winter program keeps Eugene MX riders training through the months when the outdoor track is unrideable due to PNW rain, and the arenacross format gives racers SX-specific obstacle practice that the outdoor track does not deliver. The dual-season structure is unusual for an Oregon facility and reflects an operator commitment to year-round rider development. The Junction City location is about 15 minutes north of Eugene off Territorial Highway, in the heart of the mid-Willamette Valley. Portland is two hours north on Interstate 5. Salem is 45 minutes north. The position pulls riders from across western Oregon, southwestern Washington, and the Oregon coast. The PNW climate makes the property usable through more of the year than the interior Western tracks, with the shoulder seasons of spring and fall producing some of the best riding windows.
